- Faux finishes – Create more depth and visual interest with glazing, Venetian plaster sponging, marbling, and murals. Our team of artisan house painters has done them all; you’ll be astounded at the effects they achieve.
- Wallpaper – Our master wallpaperers have decades of experience with all types of domestic and imported wallpaper – including English papers that require hand trimming – as well as grasscloths, silks, suedes and felts.
History of Chappaqua NY
In 1609 when Henry Hudson arrived, the Mahicanni (Mahicans) Indians dominated the area currently known as Westchester County. Nathaniel Turner purchased parts of New Castle in 1640 from Ponas Sagamore, ruling chief of the Siwanoy. In 1661 John Richbell purchased another large tract of land in New Castle also from the Siwanoy Indians. In the early 1730s a group of Quakers moved north from Purchase, NY, to settle in the present-day Chappaqua. The name originated from the Native Americans word "shah-pah-ka," which means a place where nothing is heard but the rustling of the wind in the leaves. The quakers spelled it Shapiqua, Shapaqua, Shapequa, Shappaqua, and, finally, Chappaqua.
